Are You Elegible For A Government Grant?

ECO4 is available to:

  • Homeowners or Private Tenants

  • Individuals who get income-related benefits

  • Properties with inefficient electric heating

ECO4 is a government-funded energy efficiency program in Great Britain that aims to help reduce fuel poverty and carbon emissions.

It is administered through the Energy Company Obligation (ECO), which requires medium and large gas and electricity suppliers operating in the country to provide funding for energy-efficient measures to eligible households.

These measures can include electric storage heaters, loft insulation, cavity wall insulation, solid wall insulation, and boiler replacements or repairs, and are intended to help households reduce the cost of heating their homes by making them more energy-efficient.

To be eligible for ECO4 funding, you must own and live in your own home or be in private rented accommodation.

If you receive certain benefits, such as income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, Pension Credit, or Disability Living Allowance, you automatically qualify for funding under the Home Heating Cost Reduction Obligation (HHCRO) component of ECO4.

If you do not receive benefits, you may still be eligible for funding through the Local Authority Flex (LA FLEX) or Local Authority Delivery Scheme (LADS) programs. These programs are designed to help households that do not qualify for HHCRO funding but still need assistance with the cost of energy-efficient measures.

It’s worth noting that ECO4 is currently being upgraded and will be called ECO4 in 2022. This means that the specific details of the program may change in the future. If you are interested in applying for ECO4 funding, it is a good idea to check with your energy supplier or a government website for the most up-to-date information on eligibility and the measures that are covered by the program.

  • LA FLEX (Local Authority Eligibility Flexibility) is a program that may allow you to qualify for ECO4 funding if you are not receiving any benefits
  • This program is designed to help homeowners who are not currently receiving any type of aid but are still struggling with a tight budget
  • If you are not receiving any benefits, you may still be eligible for funding through the LA FLEX scheme

The Government requires major energy suppliers to fund the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme. This means that all the large energy suppliers are required to enhance energy efficiency across the United Kingdom in order to reduce the country’s carbon emissions.

ECO4 is the latest version of the ECO scheme, targeting lower-income households, it is part of the Government’s strategy to enhance energy efficiency in households that are vulnerable to fuel poverty, where reduced heating costs make the biggest difference to the quality of life.

ECO4 funding is available for several measures including Cavity Wall Insulation, Gas Boiler Replacement/Upgrade, First Time Gas Connection, Heating Controls upgrade, Loft/Room-in-Roof Insulation, Solid Wall Insulation, External Insulation among others.
